Toledo Drydocking - Part 1

The liberty ship John W. Brown is shown on Toledo Ship Repair's dry-dock. The ship will spend approximately 7 weeks at the shipyard and is scheduled to be open for public tours in Toledo beginning July 14.




The rivet replacement program was begun three years ago with crews traveling to Baltimore to replace 2,500 rivets.

During the current dry-docking the remaining 14,000 rivets below the waterline will be replaced.




Protective sheets of wood are crushed under the weight of the ship.
