The People

t his is an effort to continue the work started by the late Jack Rodgers, who collected verbal and written histories of individuals associated with the World War II merchant marine.

Index of Names

His was a compilation identifying individuals who were or are involved in serving their country in various services, both military and civilian, that contributed to our maritime heritage.

While the lists primarily contain the names of the current volunteer crew of the S.S. JOHN W. BROWN, it also includes the names of merchant marine veterans of World War II, Navy Armed Guard personnel, shipyard workers, military personnel who were transported by ships, and others with an interest in preserving our maritime heritage.

While most of the individuals on these pages are members of Project Liberty Ship, we are interested in anyone who has a story to tell. If you wish to contribute your stories, or the stories of relatives or friends, then please contact us at:

john.w.brown@usa.net

If you use the keyword Biography in the Subject field of the email, then the mail will automatically be routed to the correct department.
