Ernie has been a member of the Deck Department since 1999 and a member of Project Liberty Ship since 1977. He is a graduate of the Schoolship JOHN W. BROWN and a member of the JWB Alumni Board of Directors. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for five years and then was a New York City police officer for 30 years, serving in the Harbor Unit as a senior pilot on police boats the last 20 years. His duties included law enforcement, rescue and port security. Ernie was elected to the Project Liberty Ship Board of Directors in 2007.
