Ron is a former volunteer crew member on the tall ship SCHOONER
ALEXANDRIA. He and his family became interested in the BROWN when by chance while on
vacation in Canada they saw the ship pass through the Welland Canal homeward bound in 2000.
Ron, his wife and their two teen-age children all volunteer on the ship. Ron and his son
Dale are in the deck department, Vicki works in the steward's department, and daughter Lisa
has taught herself to drive the cash register in the Ship's Store. In addition, Ron is the
webmaster for Project Liberty Ship, and Ron and Vicki are co-curators of the onboard
Merchant Marine Museum. Ron has been a member of the Board of Directors of Project Liberty
Ship since 2004.
Ron is a career employee of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.,
where he manages Agency websites.
