More Information - Veterans Day Cruise

Project Liberty Ship welcomes all veterans, their guests, and active-duty military personnel to our annual Veterans Day cruise. It is our way of recognizing and honoring the contributions of our veterans, in war and peace, throughout our history as a nation.

In the past, Project Liberty Ship offered this event to veterans only. Due to age and infirmity, however, we encourage each veteran to bring one paying guest over the age of 12. Current active-duty military personnel in uniform are also welcome.

There is a nominal $20 (non-refundable) charge for each person making the cruise.

Please note the following:

  • Passengers should arrive at the Cruise Maryland Terminal (on McComas Street just off I-95) no later than 9:00 am. Passengers will be able to board from 0800 (8:00 am) to 0930 (9:30 am). The cruise departs at 1000 (10:00 am).

  • The cruise will include a memorial service and wreath-laying. Refreshments will be available and the ship will be open for tours.

  • The BROWN will return to the North Locust Point Marine Terminal. The approximate cruise time is two hours.

  • Please see the additional information available on this website for more details about the Veterans Day cruise.

  • Tickets are available by mail order only. Download the Veterans' Day Celebration Order Form, complete the form and mail the form and your check to Project Liberty Ship; our mailing address is on the order form. All ticket orders must be made by mail; we will not accept telephone orders. All orders for tickets must be received by October 25, 2008.

  • Due to port security policy, we need the names of all passengers for entry into the port facilities. Only the names provided will be permitted access to the pier and the ship. The name provided must match the name on your photo ID.

  • Ticket orders and directions will be mailed within two weeks of receipt of order. Please call 410-558-0164 or e-mail to john.w.brown@usa.net (Subject line: Veterans' Day Cruise) for more information.

  • This event is organized and sponsored by Project Liberty Ship, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the Liberty Ship JOHN W. BROWN as a living, steaming World War II Memorial and Museum Ship in Baltimore.
